Meet Your Mountain (previously titled The Donner Party) has been honored with 14 Nominations for the Broadway World Regional Awards, including Best Musical.

In addition to Best Musical, nominations went to eight actors from the World Premiere production. Jerry Lee and Michael RJ Campbell are each nominated as Best Actor (Musical) for their portrayals of George Donner and James Reed, respectively. Maggie Hollinbeck as Tamsen Donner and Vivienne Cleary as Margaret Reed are each nominated as Best Actress (Musical). Nominated for Best Supporting Actress (Musical) are Martha Omiyo Kight as Sarah and Abbey Williams Campbell as Mary Ann. Sacramento Theatre Company’s Young Professional Conservatory actors Noa Solorio and Monique Lonergan Ward are each nominated for Best Child Actor in a Play or Musical for the role they shared, alternating performances as Virginia Reed.

Meet Your Mountain (The Donner Party)’s Directing Team, Michael Laun and Margaret Rose, are nominated for Best Direction (Musical). The designers on the production are also nominated: Jessica Minnihan for Best Original Costume Design, Jordan Burkholder for Best Original Lighting Design, and Ian Loveall for Best Original Set Design.

In addition to the show-specific recognition, Sacramento Theatre Company is nominated as Best Professional Theatre. The Broadway World Regional Award Nominations are initiated by readers of Broadway World’s website, then final nominations are announced by editors of Broadway World. Audiences are currently submitting votes online to determine the winners in each category, which will be announced in January.
